Adekunle Ajasin University has the visio to be a foremost institution that moves manpower development in the direction of self-apprenticeship; a first-class University in research, knowledge, character and service to humanity.And mission to  provide knowledge and skills for self-reliance in a conducive environment where teaching, learning and research can take place.It is located in Akungba Akoko, a small town near Ikare-Akoko. It was established primarily to improve the educational status of the people of the state, Nigeria and for any Applicant interested in gaining applicable University knowledge from any part of the world.It offers courses in Business, Law, Science, Education and Arts and it is founded to provide University Education that rank up to the highest world standard. Adekunle Ajasin University is also good in sports as it is among the five that represented Nigeria in the 2005 West Africa Football games taking a good place after the competition

Admission and Applications

The main thrust of education policy in Ondo State is to develop and sharpen the capabilities of people in the State through effective, formal as well as informal education thereby ensuring that the State is able to compete effectively in a world driven by science and technology.

At Adekunle Ajasin University, admission into degree programmes is highly competitive and is based strictly on merit. This is because the University believes that only naturally capable students can benefit from sound and quality education designed to make them function effectively wherever they find themselves after graduation.

Admission is open to all suitably qualified persons regardless of sex, race, religion or place of birth. Admission is either by Entrance Examination (UTME) or by Direct Entry (DE).
1. Admission by Entrance Examination: UTME

Applicants must write the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) administered by JAMB and attain an acceptable standard there in Use of English and three other subjects relevant to their proposed courses of study.

Candidates must, in addition to attaining an acceptable standard in UTME, possess one of the following qualifications.

(a) Credits in five subjects (among them, English Language and Mathematics) relevant to the course and obtained at no more than two sittings in the Senior School Certificate (SSC) or the School Certificate/General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (SC/GCE O/level) or equivalent.

(b) Grade II Teacher’s Certificate (TC II) with credit or merit passes in at least five subjects. (This is acceptable only in the Faculty of Education).

(c) NABTEB Qualifications.

A credit in Mathematics is required for all Science and Social Science courses, except where it is stated otherwise.

A credit in English Language is required for all courses.

2. Admission by Direct Entry (DE)

Applicants with one of the following qualifications may be considered for Direct Entry, admission.

(a) A minimum of five subjects passed at no more than two sittings, with at least two of them passed at the Principal or Advanced level of the GCE and the others at credit level in SSC/GCE/O level. No subject will be counted at both Ordinary and Advanced levels.

(b) Passes in two major subjects in the NCE, with SSC/ GCE/O-level credits or equivalents in THREE other subjects (mainly for Education Courses). Education may be accepted as a third A/Level subject for those taking courses in Education.

(c) A good first degree holder who has completed the National Youth Service Corps Programme may be accepted into the Law programme.
